Gardaí at Killarney Garda Station continue to detain a man on suspicion of the murder of Michael Gaine from Kerry.
A man in his 50s was arrested on Sunday afternoon in connection with the murder of the farmer who was first reported missing from his home near Kenmare on Friday, 21 March.
The missing person case was reclassified as a homicide investigation on 29 April.
The arrest came after partial human remains were discovered on lands in Carrig East, Kenmare over the weekend.
An Garda Síochána said that they are continuing to carry out searches and technical examinations at lands at Carrig East.

The man arrested on Sunday is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in Killarney.
Gardaí can question the suspect until around teatime this Monday before determining whether or not he can be released or charged and brought before the courts.
Meanwhile, Gardaí have continued to appeal to the public for assistance in this investigation.
