RIP: Tragic Garda update as missing man is found dead after shed search appeal
A search for a missing man in Leitrim has been stood down after the discovery of a body.
Gardaí said: "Following the discovery of a man’s body, the missing person appeal for Manuel D'Costa, 48-years-old, who was reported missing from his home in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on Friday, May 16, 2025, has been stood down."
They added: "An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance."
Manuel had been reported missing in May but was the subject of a renewed appeal last week as gardaí appealed to landowners in the Ballyfarnon, Keadue and surrounding areas to check any sheds, outhouses or other remote buildings on their lands.
