A man in his 20s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday, 30 July.
The single-vehicle collision occurred on the N2/M50 Northbound slip road at Junction 5 shortly after 1am on Wednesday morning.
Gardaí confirmed that one of the occupants of the car, the young man in his 20s, was fatally injured in the collision. The body of the man was removed to the morgue at Whitehall where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Another passenger, a woman in her 30s, was rushed to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where gardaí said she "remains in a serious condition."
Meanwhile, a man in his was 20s was arrested at the scene under the Road Traffic Act and is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The stretch of road is expected to reopen soon as a technical examination has been conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera or dashcam footage and were travelling in the area between 12:30am and 1:30am this morning are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
