Gardai say fatal incident happened near Bunmahon, County Waterford shortly before midnight on Wednesday
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a road crash in County Waterford late on Wednesday night.
In an appeal, they say the single-vehicle incident happened on the R675 at Ballinahilla, close to Bunmahon at approximately 11:45pm.
"The motorcyclist, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination is due to take place," said a garda spokesperson.
Motorists are being advised the road remains closed this morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed Wednesday's collision to contact them.
"Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area between 11pm and midnight are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí," said a spokesperson.
