A driver will now face court after a Garda checkpoint in Kilkenny uncovered several dangerous issues with their vehicle.
Just days ago, members of the Roads Policing Unit in the county conducted a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) checkpoint in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority in Paulstown.
During this operation, one of these vehicles was stopped as Gardaí suspected it could be dangerously defective.
The green HGV was taken under escort to a place of testing which revealed ten issues with the vehicle, including a problem with the brakes.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county commented on this, saying, "A trip to court awaits the operator.
Defects on all vehicles endanger other road users but when it's a HGV with them, the dangers are multiplied."
