There is a brand-new millionaire in Ireland who has had there life changed forever after purchasing the winning ticket on the day of the draw!

County Limerick is buzzing with excitement after one Limerick Lotto player struck gold in Saturday night’s Lotto Plus Raffle event, Limerick Live has reported.

The winning ticket, worth an incredible €1,000,500, was purchased on the day of the draw at Centra, Moore Street in Cappamore in Limerick.

Speaking on the win, store owner, Mark Lenihan, said: “We’re absolutely delighted – this is huge for us, for the team, and for Cappamore!"

He said it’s their first ever big National Lottery win.

"To think that a life-changing ticket was sold right here in our store, is just incredible. Massive congratulations to the winner – we’re thrilled for you and wish you all the very best!” said Mr Lenihan.

The Lotto Plus Raffle usually sees between 60 and 120 winners of €500 in each draw.

However, Saturday night’s draw included a special event: every ticket with the winning raffle number was entered into a once-off random draw, where one ticket was selected to win an additional €1,000,000. While all 81 ticketholders with the winning number received the standard €500 prize, one fortunate Limerick player walked away with a life-changing total of €1,000,500. 

The winning raffle number was: 3184 

It wasn’t the only big Lotto win of the night as a Dublin player bagged themselves the Match Five + Bonus prize worth €404,840. Their winning ticket was bought on Thursday, September 4 from Spar, 13 South Circular Road, Dublin 8.
