'Not worth the paper it's written on without enforcement' says Councillor on new speed limits

Cllr John Pender says new speed limits are not worth anything without Garda enforcement
At the most recent meeting of the Carlow County Council, Councillors insisted that the new speed limits that have been put in place are not worth having without Garda enforcement.
A number of Councillors echoed the statement made by Fianna Fáil Councillor John Pender, who said "It's not worth the paper it is written on without enforcement."
During a presentation by Orla Barrett, Senior Engineer of the Carlow Council, the new speed limit introductions were topic of conversation as the presentation talked about the plan of 0 road deaths or serious injuries in Ireland by 2025.
And how an entire speed limit review was due in County Carlow.
Cllr Willie Quinn also added that "enforcement is key" and "more Gardaí are need in stations."
Councillor Charlie Murphy also echoed the same sentiment saying "it's all about enforcement."
