Irish boxer Kellie Harrington will leave Paris with another Olympic medal after victory in her quarter-final.

The Dubliner kept her hopes alive of back-to-back titles at the Paris Games after she took a classy unanimous decision to book a semi-final bout.

Kellie will fight on in the 60kg semi-finals on Saturday night for a shot at silver or gold, but bronze is in the bag.

Harrington became only the fourth Irish athlete and the first Irish female athlete to win Olympic medals at two different Games in the last 96 years.

Angie Valdés of Colombia was the latest fighter to fall to the amateur lightweight queen at the the North Paris Arena this afternoon.

Ireland has thrived in boxing in the last two decades of Olympic games, and Paris looks set to be no different.
