Influential women in Irish sport

KATIE TAYLOR

Katie Taylor put Irish women's boxing firmly on the map at the 2012 Olympics in London when she won gold for Ireland in the lightweight division. Wicklow-born Taylor turned professional in 2016 after earning various victories in the amateur game and has since gone on to become one of the most successful female boxers of all time. The Bray native, who has a professional record of an impressive 21-0, is a two-weight world champion and the current undisputed lightweight champion, having retained her world title when she defeated Puerto Rican boxer Amanda Serrano earlier this year.
