Garda Elaine Rowe, Juvenile Liasion Officer, retires after serving in Carlow since 1990.
Elaine was appointed Juvenile Liasion Officer in 1998 and since then Elaine has worked together with the Youth Diversion Project and Carlow Regional Youth Services.
Elaine had a huge involvement with local schools where she worked tirelessly with teenagers and this was a huge part of her work.
Announcing the news on social media, Garda Síochána Carlow said: 'Elaine will be a huge loss to Carlow Garda station. We all would like to wish Elaine a long, happy and healthy retirement.'
Replying to the post, Elaine Rowe said: 'Thanks everyone for the lovely words and good wishes. I have been very proud to serve the people of Carlow and am very grateful to get to this stage, leaving on good terms, healthy and well. In my best and worst days, both in my professional and personal life, Carlow station has been a constant. I will miss my colleagues and friends, but it’s the right time to move on. I’m leaving with good memories and a grateful heart. Take care and be kind.'
