This is great news!

Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy, turned the sod on eight new social houses in Rathvilly on Friday afternoon.

The new houses will go into Fr Flood Avenue and Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Brian O'Donoghue, said: "It’s fantastic to be turning the sod on the eight houses that will complete Fr Flood Avenue in Rathvilly.

"It means eight more applicants coming off the housing list and that means eight happier families."

Cllr O'Donoghue added: "Rebuilding Ireland is working. We will get there. People who say it isn’t have a vested interest in failure and bad news.

"With the eight houses in Rathvilly and 26 houses in Sleaty Street being opened today (Friday), progress is being made, it’s good news."
