The old Braun site in Carlow
Mary Lou McDonald has visited Carlow's Nua factory to talk about Sinn Fein's plan to deliver housing.
Nua is located at the former Braun factory. Nua Carlow annual builds 1250 timber frames and 500 light gauge steels for new homes.
Nua sources their materials locally allowing them to be in control of their own supply chain and allows them to make a positive contribution to the environment and faster consistent construction.
With this approach Nua clam to be able to bring products to market sooner and benefit the homeowners of the future quicker.
On Deputy McDonald's visit she said: "Here in Carlow at the Nua factory talking about Sinn Féin's plan to deliver housing. We have to deliver at scale, to deliver at pace.
"The need is absolutely enormous but we have the technology. We have the skills. we have the vision and ambition to deliver. So it has been a great visit here.
"You see here the great work that is being done. It is part of the puzzle. Part of the answer to deliver housing, to deliver homes for you, for your family and for communities right across the country."
