RIP: 'Heart of gold' - Sadness in Carlow as loving young mother dies unexpectedly

A young woman from Carlow has sadly passed away recently, leaving many people shocked and heartbroken.
Anne Strahan, of Hillview Drive, Hacketstown, Carlow died unexpectedly on 17th October 2026, predeceased by her parents Ciss and Johnny.
Anne was the devoted and loving mother of Noah, much loved partner of Mark, and cherished sister of Brenda, Eileen, Geraldine and Paula. She will be sadly missed by her brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held for Anne on Wednesday morning at St. Brigid’s Church, Hacketstown, arriving for funeral mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in Hacketstown cemetery.

Tributes have poured in on RIP.ie from those who knew and loved Anne.
One person said: “Anne was such a good friend and someone I’ll always have so many lovely memories of. She was always up for the craic and could always put a smile on your face.
“Anne used to mind me when I was little, and I’ll never forget all the little things we used to do together, playing Barbies, watching movies, or her doing my hair. They’re memories I’ll always cherish. You’ll be sadly missed, Anne. Thank you for all the lovely memories”.
Another person said: “I am so very sorry for your tragic loss. The times Harry and I spent in Hacketstown growing up were made all the better by Anne’s presence and sense of fun, like when she would let us get sweets in Esso and watch the Chuckie movies and we couldn’t quite believe our luck!! She was a true character and will be so missed”.
“Sincere condolences to Anne’s son Noah and all the Strahan family on their sad and sudden loss. She was a genuinely lovely person with a heart of gold, always up for a laugh.
“Her sudden passing is such a shock, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time. May her gentle soul rest in peace,” another mourner said on RIP.ie.
