UPDATED: Irish Water 'keep residents awake at 4am with diggers and con-saws'

The matter is being investigated
Irish Water have been "keeping residents awake at 4am with diggers and con-saws," Cllr Will Paton has claimed.
The local representative has emailed Irish Water "protesting the lateness of the much needed works happening at Templeowen at present".
He said: "No one minds a man earning a day's pay but keeping residents awake at 4am, with diggers, con-saws, flood lighting etc is NOT acceptable.
"Residents need their quota of sleep to be able to function the next day."
Irish Water say they have forwarded the details to the most appropriate department for review and response.
"Please be assured that I will continue to follow up on this matter until it is resolved to the satisfaction of the residents," Cllr Paton added.
UPDATE:
In a statement on Friday, Cllr Paton said: "I have been informed that night works at Templeown are now complete!
"Apparently there was an issue on Tuesday night when unexpected concrete was encountered by the contractors at the town end of Templeowen which required substantial breaking, hence the late night workings, diggers, con-saws etc.
"I have also been informed that my representations on your behalf will assist the Council to manage Irish Water so that such works into the future will be carried out in a manor that ensures that impacts on residents are minimised."
