CARLOW WEATHER: Rain and possible spot flooding expected today (July 6)

Wet and windy conditions can be expected today (July 6) with spot flooding possible. 

According to Met Éireann, rain and drizzle will become widespread this afternoon, with rain heaviest and most persistent across Atlantic counties.

Highest temperatures will be between 16 to 18 degrees with southerly winds increasing fresh to strong and gusty.

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue tonight, heavy in places, but some drier intervals will occur also.

Windy or blustery conditions will become increasingly confined to eastern and southern coastal counties overnight.

It will be humid with lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees later tonight.
