CARLOW WEATHER: Heavy showers with a chance of hail

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected today (Sunday July 9). 

That's according to Met Éireann, which also forecasts further heavy showers this afternoon and evening with some thunderstorms, spot flooding and a chance of hail. 

Highest temperatures will be between 17 and 21 degrees with moderate southerly breezes. 

Tonight, showers will continue for a while but will die out in most areas.

Showery rain will push into southern counties overnight with lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
