Storm Domingos to impact Ireland amid brutal forecast for coming days
Storm Domingos looks set to pass to the south of us and bring more bad weather to Ireland after being named by the Spanish Met office.
In the wake of Storm Ciaran which brought heavy rain and winds to the southern half of the country, this system looks set to deliver more brutal weather, including 10mm more rain to already saturated counties.
Irish weather expert Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather has been tracking Storm Domingos and conflicting weather models predict slightly different outcomes for Ireland.
"The next storm to pass South of us has been named by the Spanish Met as Storm Domingos and once again we will miss the winds but we will see rain tonight and tomorrow morning with over 10mm in parts of South and East," he explained.
"One model is showing a lot more but hopefully it is wrong," he added.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann forecast for the weekend is similarly bleak with unsettled conditions prevailing.
Their outlook says it will remain "cool and unsettled with showers or possible rain most days, driest across the east and southeast."
"Tonight [Friday] will bring well scattered showers to begin," they added.
"Rain will move into the southwest early on, pushing up across much of the southern half of the country later, along with freshening easterlies across southern counties. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees with a touch of frost further north where skies remain clearer. Mist and fog in parts also in mostly light easterly breezes.
"Saturday will begin dull and rather wet across much of the southern half of the country with mist and fog slowly lifting further north. The rain will gradually ease through the day, becoming largely confined to eastern counties by evening. Some sunny spells elsewhere with a few heavy showers moving into west and southwest counties later. Cool with highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, in moderate to fresh northeasterly winds.
"Some heavy and prolonged showers will affect Atlantic counties [on Saturday night]. A lot of dry and clear weather elsewhere with frost for sheltered areas. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees in mostly light westerly breezes."
On a slightly brighter note, they say Sunday will be "a day of sunny spells with scattered showers tracking eastwards, in a rather brisk westerly wind."
