Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow Wind and Rain warning for Carlow.
The warning will be in place from 8pm on Tuesday 26th December until midnight, Thursday 28th December.
Heavy showers expected today (Wednesday), which may lead to localised flooding.
Strong southerly winds overnight, veering southwesterly, in conjunction with spring tides, may lead to coastal flooding.
Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
It is set to become increasingly windy Wednesday evening and into Wednesday night as a swathe of strong to gale force westerly winds, associated with Storm Gerrit, moves in across the country. While the peak winds will occur early on, it will remain windy throughout with further scattered blustery wintry showers along with possible embedded thunderstorms.
Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
