Cold Arctic air over Carlow will lead to widespread frost and hazardous conditions
Frost and ice will slowly clear this Tuesday morning, though it may linger all day in parts of the south.
According to Met Éireann, outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow in the north of the province will transition mostly to rain by mid-morning. It'll be brighter and mainly dry further south, with spells of crisp winter sunshine.
Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with light to moderate southwest to west winds, gusty at times near the east coast.
Tuesday night will see a mix of clear spells and patchy cloud along with scattered outbreaks of light rain, drizzle, sleet and snow for a time. It'll become mostly dry and clear overnight.
Lowest temperatures of -3 to -1 degrees with a sharp to severe frost and icy stretches forming.
A light northerly or variable breeze will also allow patches of fog or freezing fog to develop.
