Carlow Weather man and Met Éireann provide weather updates for Carlow and surrounding areas.
CarlowWeather on X provide an update for Monday mornings weather:
"Well that was a noisy night as those strong gusts and heavy showers I mentioned hit along with a few lightning strikes! Thankfully a nice bright morning now but it will be very windy today with scattered showers."
And from CarlowWeather.com: "Partly to mostly sunny. A slight chance of rain. High 10°C. UV index up to 3. Wind west around 16 mph, gusting to 28 mph, in the morning, becoming 19 mph, gusting to 28 mph, in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 20 percent. Precipitation mostly less than 2 mm."
Looking then at Met Éireann's weather forecast: "Today will be cool and breezy with sunny spells and showers, some turning heavy early on. The showers will ease through the afternoon with largely dry conditions by evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees but feeling colder in fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds."
Then what Met Éireann have provided for Monday evening: "Dry for most tonight with long clear spells and well scattered showers. A few mist patches may form as northwesterly winds ease moderate through the night. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees."
Not looking like the pick up in the weather we were hopping for this time of year.
