Carlow Weather and Met Éireann have provided weather updates for the day and weekend ahead.
Carlow Weather on X provides an optimistic look at the weekend's weather: "Feels like that high has being coming for an age but it will finally move over us for a nice weekend
Some patchy light rain today, heaviest in North and odd shower tomorrow but very low rainfall totals for next 7 days as weather finally improves."
Met Éireann have also provided their prediction for the weather: "Any mist and fog clearing to give a mainly cloudy day with a few bright or sunny spells. Patchy light rain and drizzle developing in the afternoon and early evening. Highest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees in a moderate west to northwest wind, increasing fresh at times later."
And Met Éireann's for this evening: "Staying largely cloudy tonight with further patches of light rain or drizzle feeding in from the north. Some clear spells developing also. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in a light to moderate west to northwest wind."
We can also look to Met Éireann's early prediction for Friday's weather: "Starting mostly cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle but becoming mainly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with moderate northwest winds."
