"Sunshine and showers" are on the horizon for next week as Met Éireann's latest weather forecast predicts we're in for more unsettled weather over the coming days.
There's been an extended spell of sunshine and rain over recent weeks in Ireland and this weekend looks no different with heavy showers and possible thundery downpours with a chance of spot flooding in places on Sunday.
Met Éireann's forecast features plenty of showers, and even temperatures reaching 18c, into early next week while their extended outlook predicts more "unsettled conditions" beyond Wednesday.
Today, Saturday, will have sunny spells in the morning with it staying mainly dry in Ulster and north Leinster until evening with temperatures reaching 16c. Rain tonight will clear from the southwest to showers overnight with Met Éireann warning "some of the showers may be heavy".

Rain will arrive in the southwest later Monday evening or early Monday night extending countrywide overnight. Lowest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees in moderate southerly winds.
Tuesday
Rain will turn heavy at times on Tuesday morning. Sunny spells will develop later as the rain clears to showers. Highest temperatures 16 to 18 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
