'Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle' Carlow Weather forecast for the weekend ahead

Highs of 14 to 17 degrees

Met Éireann have provided their weather forecast for the weekend for County Carlow and surrounding areas.

Looking firstly to Met Éireann's weather forecast for today: "Cool, wet and rather windy on Thursday. Blustery outbreaks of rain will extend in across the province during Thursday morning, persisting into the afternoon, while becoming more scattered by evening. It will be driest overall across southern counties with some late sunny spells here. Cool for the time of year with highs of 14 to 17 degrees. Unseasonably windy too with fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds."

This evening: "Tonight will become mostly dry with clear spells and moderating westerly winds. Some passing showers still too though. Lows of 9 to 11 degrees."

Looking to tomorrow: "Friday will be a day of sunny spells and just well scattered showers in mostly moderate southwesterly winds. Becoming cloudier. Highs of 17 to 19 degrees, mildest and driest in the Southeast."

The national outlook for Saturday: " A damp, locally wet start with overnight rain and drizzle gradually clearing away southeastwards. Sunny spells will develop across the northern half of the country. Highs of 15 to 19 degrees in mostly moderate northwest breezes. SATURDAY NIGHT: Dry with clear spells and just light northwesterly breezes. Cool with lows of 6 to 9 degrees."

Sunday: "Some showers will affect Ulster with showery rain arriving into Atlantic counties during the afternoon. Driest and mildest across the Midlands, South and East with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 13 to 20 degrees, all in light to moderate westerly breeze. SUNDAY NIGHT: Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, but with some areas staying dry. Mild with lows of 11 or 12 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly breezes."

Monday: "Cloudy outbreaks of rain and drizzle will give way to sunny spells and well scattered showers. Breezy in moderate to fresh northwest winds. Highs of 13 to 20 degrees, mildest across the Southeast."
