Met Éireann pinpoint return of sun in weather forecast for this week - but we must wait
Met Éireann's has pinpointed the return of sun and warmer conditions to Ireland but we have to wait a little bit longer, according to their forecast for this week.
Unsettled conditions remain in charge or our weather but that may change next weekend.
In their latest forecast, Met Éireann says: "Any lingering rain and drizzle will clear this morning [Monday] and there'll be sunny spells. In the afternoon, rain will spread from the west, turning heavy at times in the evening. Highest temperatures 17 to 22 degrees with light to moderate westerly or variable breezes
"Rain will clear tonight and it will become mainly dry with clear skies in the north, staying cloudier further south. Lowest temperatures 9 to 13 degrees in a light northwesterly breeze.

"Mainly dry with some sunshine on Tuesday. Highest temperatures 18 to 22 degrees as light northwesterly winds become variable in direction.
"Mainly dry Tuesday night, cloud will increase from the west overnight, bringing light rain and drizzle to Atlantic coasts by dawn. Lowest temperatures 9 to 14 degrees in a light variable breeze.
"Rain and drizzle in the west on Wednesday morning will spread eastwards later. Highest temperatures 19 to 21 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.
"Mainly dry with just isolated showers Wednesday night. Lowest temperatures 13 or 14 degrees in light southerly breezes.
"Rain and drizzle on Thursday will give way in the evening to clearer weather. Highest temperatures 18 to 22 degrees in moderate westerly winds.
"Sunshine and showers on Friday with light to moderate southwest winds and temperatures between 17 and 19 degrees.
"Current indications suggest that there will be just isolated showers on Saturday with longer sunny spells in between, and the potential for a drier day overall on Sunday and becoming warmer by Monday."
