WEATHER: 'Mainly dry with sunny spells' after a frosty start a better day ahead?

Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees

Met Éireann have provided their daily and weekend weather forecast for County Carlow and surrounding areas.

After a frosty start to the morning the day is set to improve.

Firstly looking at today's Met Éireann forecast:

"Cold to begin today with any frost and mist clearing in the morning. The rest of the day will be mainly dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in light to moderate southwest or variable winds."

Tonight: 

"Dry with clear spells overnight. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 5, with light to moderate southwest winds."

Tomorrow: 

"Sunny spells with showers developing by afternoon. A clearance to sunny spells through the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, with light to moderate westerly winds."

Tomorrow night:

"Cold and mostly dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees with light, variable breezes."

Sunday:

"A mainly dry start with cloud gradually thickening from the Atlantic through the day. Patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle look likely to affect coastal counties of the south and west from afternoon, with the rain turning heavier and more persistent during Sunday evening and spreading elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees generally, but 8 to 10 degrees in Ulster. Light to moderate southeasterly breezes freshening near coasts by evening."
