WEATHER: 'Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle' With potential dry weather ahead

Highest temperatures will range from 6 to 9 degrees

Met Éireann have provided their weekend weather forecast for County Carlow and surrounding areas.

Some wet weather across the county but spells of dry weather possible over the next few days.

Firstly looking at Met Éireann for today:

"A dry start today with frost and a few fog patches. There will be some bright spells this morning but cloud will quickly thicken from the west. Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move in from the west during the course of this afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will range from 6 to 9 degrees in moderate southerly breezes."

Tonight:

"Any lingering rain or drizzle will clear early tonight. It will become largely dry and turning cold with frost forming in some areas as skies clear. Lowest temperatures of zero to +3 degrees in generally light westerly or variable breezes which will allow a few fog patches to develop."

Tomorrow:

"A dry start on Wednesday with some hazy sunshine but becoming overcast by lunchtime. Rain will push in from the west during the course of the afternoon accompanied by strong and gusty southerly winds. Highest afternoon temperatures will generally range from 8 to 11 degrees."

Wednesday evening:

" Rain will clear eastwards into the Irish Sea early on Wednesday night with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers following from the west. Minimum temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with fresh to strong southwest winds."
