WEATHER: 'Outbreaks of rain and drizzle' As wet weather shift takes effect this weekend

Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 or 10 degrees

Met Éireann have provided their weekend weather forecast for County Carlow and surrounding areas.

A rainy start to the day in County Carlow with not much let up as the weekend seems to follow suit.

Then looking at Met Éireann for today:

"Mostly cloudy today with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, becoming patchy from the southwest through the afternoon and evening. Blustery at first with moderate to fresh southeast winds, easing through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 or 10 degrees."

Tonight:

"Mostly cloudy tonight with outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees. Light to moderate east or southeast breezes will allow some mist and fog patches to develop."

Tomorrow:

"Mostly cloudy tomorrow with fog slow to clear in places. There will be further patches of rain and drizzle too but dry intervals as well. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light to moderate east or southeast winds."

Saturday Night:

"Persistent rain will extend into the southwest and west through the night with some spot flooding possible. Drier elsewhere though there still will be patches of rain and drizzle about. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees in mostly moderate east or southeast winds."

Sunday:

"Rain over the southwestern half of the country in the morning will become patchier with good dry intervals developing for the afternoon with some hazy sunny spells. Largely cloudy elsewhere with patchy rain and drizzle at times. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees generally, milder in the southwest with moderate, occasionally fresh southeasterly winds."

Sunday Night:

"Rather cloudy with some patchy rain and drizzle at first before more persistent and locally heavy rain moves in from the west, extending to all but the east and northeast by morning. Lowest temperatures again of 3 to 8 degrees, coldest in the north. Mostly moderate southeast winds."
