Dog, tools, and break-in in local Carlow area, Gardaí investigate

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating multiple incidents of burglaries in the same region of Coolmanagh Hacketstown, Carlow.

The incidents in question were a stolen dog, a outhouse break-in, with multiple tools taken in the area.

The incidents took place on the 26th of March 2025.

The incidents occurred between 11am and 4pm, an 8-year- old black and brown Terrier was taken from her family home in the Coolmanagh area of Hacketstown. Dog is registered, microchipped and much loved.

In the same area of Coolmanagh, a lock was broken on outhouses and a number of tools stolen from the shed.

Tools stolen included a chain saw, a tool box, two axes and stainless steel pins for a tractor.

On Monday evening 24 th March at approx. 8pm, a black car, not better described, was seen driving up a laneway in the Coolmanagh area at speed. A sensor light was activated in the property after which this vehicle left a speed.


Gardai in Tullow are investigating this and are appealing for any further CCTV, dashcam etc to be made available to them, and also any witnesses in the area to contact them on 059 9181160
