Carlow County Council have given the green light for the demolition of two single story houses in Carlow Town and construct a new cafe and apartments, and the Carlow Council are close to making a decision on the application.
The planning application was submitted by Farrell Construction on the 17th of June 2025 to the Carlow County Council.
The proposed location of the new planning works is set at 2/3 Staplestown Road, Carlow Town, R93 T9V4.

The proposed works in the plans submitted are:
For demolition of 2no. single storey houses and the construction of 1 block to street front comprising of 1 cafe unit to ground floor and number 1, 1 bedroom apartment with number 3 1 bedroom units to first floor and associated stairs/lift and number 1 block to rear of site comprising of number 4, 1 bedroom apartments to ground floor and number 4, 1 bedroom apartments to first floor and associated stairs/lift and all associated works.
The decision was made by the Carlow County Council on the 30th of June 2025.
The decision is subject a 4 week appeals period.
