Tributes paid to a Carlow woman who had a 'great sense of humour' following her passing

Maura (Mary) Doyle (née Nolan) - Barrett Street, Bagenalstown, Carlow - Tuesday 1st July 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Maura (Mary) Doyle (née Nolan) of Barrett Street, Bagenalstown, Carlow.

Maura passed away peacefully peacefully after a short illness bravely borne surrounded by her loving family in the care of the nurses and doctors of the Nore Suite St. Luke's Hospital Kilkenny on the 1st of July 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Seamie (James) Doyle Kernanstown, Carlow, and daughter of the late John and Moll Nolan (Fair Green) also sister of the late Charlie and Paddy Nolan and grandmother of the late Vivienne Dunne.

Adored mother of Deirdre,Teresa, Mary, Breda, John, Pat, Paul and Jimmy, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters Margie, Frances, Nancy and brother John, her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Im saddened to hear the news of the passing of one true lady inside and out .Maura had a great sence of humour always smiling and loved the old chat may her gentle soul rest in peace Deepest sympathy to all the Doyle and Nolan families great neighbours"

Another reads: 

"My sincerest sympathy to Teresa on the death of your mam, many a great chat we had in Penneys on a weekly basis,she was a true lady. May she rest in peace"

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing in Somers Funeral Home Bagenalstown on Thursday from 2.pm to 7.pm, with Funeral Prayers at 6.pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday Morning at 11.am in St. Andrew's Church Bagenalstown, followed by burial afterwards in the Cemetery of the Assumption Bagenalstown.
