What's On: Carlow's first pop-up Gaeltacht event of 2024 and gatherings ‘as Gaeilge’

The Teach Dolmain will host Carlow's first pop-up Gaeltacht event of 2024 on Thursday 11th January from 8.30pm. These Irish conversation gatherings meet on the second Thursday of each month at 8.30pm before a trad session commences. All are welcome to drop in on Thursday for a chat ‘as Gaeilge’.

The weekly Irish Conversation gatherings resume in Lamberts Café, Dublin Street on Wednesday 10th January after a Christmas break. Between 12noon and 1pm, fluent speakers and learners gather together for a cup of coffee/tea.

A new term of Sean-Nós dance classes conducted by champion dancer Irene Cunningham begin in the Éire Óg GAA Clubhouse on Tuesday 16th January from 7.30-8.30pm. Contact Irene on 087 6466877 or Glór Cheatharlach on 087 2857048 for more information.

The 6.15pm Mass in Carlow Cathedral is celebrated in Irish on the first and second Saturdays of each month. The Irish choir Cór an Aifrinn is seeking new members and will welcome anyone interested in singing ‘as Gaeilge’. Singers and musicians of all ages as well as readers are welcome.
