'Heartbreaking'- Tributes paid to mother of five who sadly died in Carlow

Tributes have poured in for Carlow native Margaret Hutton (née McDonald) who sadly passed away recently.

Margaret was a loving wife and mother of five from Johnstown in Bennekerry and Killeshin in Laois and passed away on 4th August 2025.
She died peacefully in the tender care of the staff in the Oakward, palliative care University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by her loving family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Billy and adored children Damian, Sharon, Aine, Nicella and Graham, her grandchildren Joe, Leah, Sean, Lauren, Jody, Jamie, Fionn, Casey, Aubrey, Kaelan and Jayden, sons-in-law James and Keith, daughter-in-law Lorna, sister Ann brother Noel extended family neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements:

Margaret will be reposing at the Burke and McDermott funeral home Station Road Carlow, Eircode (R93E72) on Wednesday 6th August from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7-30pm.

Funeral to arrive at St Mary's Church, Bennekerry, Thursday 7th August for 11am funeral Mass followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Margaret, with one mourner writing,

"Billy, Damien, Sharon, Aine, Nichola, Graham and extended families, I’m so sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. Condolences to you all at this sad time. May Margaret rest in peace".

Another message said, "Sincere sympathy to Aine & all the Hutton family at this heartbreaking time. May your beautiful Mam,
