Are you ready for the Ploughing to come to Carlow?
Carlow County Council has scheduled its second meeting of the Ploughing Co-Ordination Group in preparation for the event coming to the Dolmen County later this year.
The 2019 National Ploughing Championships will take place at Ballintrane, Fenagh from September 17-19 of this year.
The event has an economic impact of €35 million and boasts approximately 1,700 exhibitors, almost 300,000 visitors across 2 million feet of trade space and of course, over 300 ploughing competitors taking part as well.
The first meeting, which occurred on November 23 of last year, was attended by representatives from Carlow County Council, the National Ploughing Association, the Gardaí, the HSE and Carlow Tourism to discuss issues surrounding the event.
Regular meetings of this group have been scheduled to discuss issues that may arise in advance, to assist "in the smooth running of the event", Council Chief Executive, Kathleen Holohan, has said.
The next Co-Ordination Group is scheduled to take place on January 30.
