Carlow County Council have granted planning permission for an extension of Walshes Pub, located in Killerig.

Carlow County Council have granted planning permission for a resturant extension at the back of popular pub, Walshes of Killerig.

The pub is located on the outskirts of Tullow, in close reach of Carlow Town.

The planning application, which was made by owner Sally Walshe, proposes a single storey extension to the rear of the existing pub, including a restaurant and rest room areas.

This area will be connected to the existing outbuilding, a newly allocated kitchen area and new waste water treatment system.

There will also be a new vehicle entrance and car park to facilitate customers.

The planning, which was granted on Monday, 21 August, included a development contribution sum of €6,250 which must be paid to the council before the development commences.

The permission is granted under the condition that all works carried out on the site must not create noise or dust pollution that will interfere with the surrounding areas.
