A recent report has shown that the median cost of a home in County Carlow in the second quarter of this year cost €250,000, while brand new homes came in at €345,000.
Geowox's quarterly Irish housing market report has revealed that 119 homes were sold in Carlow in the second quarter of 2025, which was down a significant 19% in comparison to the same time last year.
This slowdown is on par with the rest of the country, as the report also showed a nationwide decline of 13.2% during this period with a total of 11,734 units sold in comparison to 13,518 last year.
When it comes to costs, the median price in the second quarter of the year in Carlow was €250,000 which was a 4.2% increase from last year.

Meanwhile, houses in Carlow Town had a median cost of €265,000 which was down 1.9% compared to the same period in 2024.
Interestingly, the median price of a new home in Carlow costs €345,000 during this time in comparison to existing homes which came in around €244,000.
Nationally, the report found that the median price for a home in the Republic of Ireland currently stands at €370,000. This is a notable increase of 9.5% in comparison to the same time last year of €338,000 - essentially a €32,000 surge.
