Third Carlow village joins national campaign to go 'poster free' for Local Election
Over 100 poster free areas nationwide
A national campaign called www.posterfree.ie has been launched, encouraging all Local and European Election candidates to go poster free, and it has successfully secured over 100 poster free areas.
Several of those are in Carlow with Leighlinbridge and Rathvilly among those signed up to the campaign.
Now Clonegal has joined the campaign - making it the third Carlow village to take part.
The poster free areas equates to over 11% of 2018 Tidy Town entrants.
Campaigners are calling for a national voluntary ban to ensure a poster free election.
It is a joint campaign by Séamus Maguire (Independent Donegal councillor) and David Weitbrecht (ZeroWaste.ie) encouraging all candidates to go poster free this May in both Local and European elections.
