Carlow's Shan Tynan has given a "real honest update" on anxiety and relationships.

Shan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at just 16-years-old.

After eight months of chemo with little success, her mother Leona started the mammoth task of raising €600,000 so Shan could take part in US clinical trials - a move that would save her young daughter's life.

Shan was in Texas for treatment for eighteen months and returned to Ireland last October having been declared cancer free but must return regularly for check-ups.

She's been updating her YouTube followers about dealing with anxiety issues like where she is going in life and what she has labelled as "silly problems" like what she will do in the future.

Shan says exercise has improved her mental health a lot and her anxiety is less when her time is filled.

She has also revealed that she has a boyfriend now and added: "Throughout my cancer treatment I decided to not date or pursue anything.

"I am so ready to now have a boyfriend. I feel like a normal 20-year-old. I am trying my best to get on in life."
