RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow man who a 'kind generous' person following his passing

Tony Geoghegan - Rathnapish, Carlow - May 16th 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Tony Geoghegan of Pinewood Avenue, Rathnapish, Carlow.

Tony passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny in his 95th year on Friday the 16th of May 2025.

Dearly loved husband of Eva and much loved father of Dermot, Dolores and Douglas. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, brother Eamon, son-in-law Alan, daughter-in-law Brenda, grandchildren Shane, David, Cian, Fionn, and Siún, great-grandchildren Oran and Rían, extended family, relatives and friends

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere sympathy to Eva and to all of Tony's family on their great loss.
To say that Tony was a gentleman is a great understatement. Tony was a kind generous person who was always a pleasure to meet.
He was a great work colleague in Irish Sugar: always helpful and obliging and with a great sense of humour."

Another reads:

"So very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing Dolores may all the lovely memories help you get through this difficult time sincere condolences to you and all your family may he RIP"

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow (R93 H308) on Sunday (May 18th) from 3pm concluding with prayers at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 10am in the Cathedral of the Assumption (R93 E681). Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery
